Announcing the 2008 Kiwanis Read-a-thon Poster Design Contest Winners!

Ottawa Elementary School students, grades K to 8, put your artistic talents to the test by entering the Kiwanis Read-a-thon Poster Design Contest

The 2008 Kiwanis Read-a-thon Poster Design contest was sponsored by:

  • HarperCollins Canada Ltd.

15 Ottawa area elementary schools participated with 246 entrie


2008 Winners:

Grand prize winner Kieran Ward, a grade 6 student, from Bridlewood Community School will receive a new bicycle courtesy of Canadian Tire Ottawa Dealers and tea, for him and a friend, with international best selling author J. FitzGerald McCurdy at the Fairmont Chateau Laurier.

First place winners (students and school libraries) win a signed copy of Secrets of the Dragon Riders, an anthology of critical works by your favourite fantasy authors (including J. FitzGerald McCurdy) on Christopher Paolini’s Inheritance Cycle. Secrets of the Dragon Riders is published by BenBella Books exclusively for Borders and Waldens bookstores in the U.S. and will be released this summer prior to the release of Paolini’s third book in the Inheritance Cycle. First Place prizes are donated by the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa.
