Uplands Catholic School reaches milestone

Congratulations to staff and students of Uplands Catholic School for their fundraising efforts and exceeding their goal of $500 towards the "OK Clean Water Project" in Cameroon. Principal Sue McCarthy kept her promise - if they reached their target amount she would kiss a pot-bellied pig at their wrap-up assembly! She confided later that his nose was quite wet but she definitely enjoyed kissing him more than the python!

Read-a-thon comes to Uplands Catholic School

Many exciting things are happening as Uplands Catholic School launches their Read-a-thon on April 6th! A tree sprouting books mysteriously grew over the weekend in the front lobby of the school. Teachers, library technician and principal have many activities planned over the next 3 weeks.

As part of their fundraising efforts, they will be dedicating the funds raised to the "OK Clean Water Project" in Cameroon and IF they reach their target goal of $500, Mrs. Sue McCarthy, principal, will bravely kiss the "lips" of either a python or a pig. Over the course of the next few days, the children will have the chance to vote which set of lips Mrs. M. will kiss!
