Sponsorship/Partnership Opportunities

The Kiwanis Club of Ottawa welcomes the participation of all school boards, foundations, and members of the community in helping bring Read-a-thon into all schools.

Message from Kiwanis

Improving literacy has become one of our community's most compelling social issues. Knowing how to read and write effectively is essential to success in school and in life. The Kiwanis Read-a-thon was designed to provide schools with a reading program that can be easily integrated into on-going literacy improvement efforts. The Kiwanis Read-a-thon program provides teachers with everything they need to implement a reading initiative in their classroom that focuses on increasing the satisfaction and enjoyment children can experience through reading.

Read-a-thon is a proven winner with students and teachers alike. It has become a highlight on the school year calendar as a period of celebration and fun centred on reading. As well, the Kiwanis Read-a-thon provides schools with an optional fundraising component they can use to raise money for library improvement or other school priorities.

The Kiwanis Club needs your help to bring the Read-a-thon into many more schools. Your support can make a lifelong difference to a child. Please join with us and others in your community to help our children learn to love reading.

Business Partners

Your business can play an important role in bringing Read-a-thon to life in schools in your community. There are many ways in which you can participate, by making a cash donation, committing to ongoing financial support for the program, or providing goods and/or services in-kind.

The Kiwanis Read-a-thon provides free literacy resources to teachers and librarians to implement annual read-a-thons. Your company has an opportunity to become involved as a sponsor reaching families, schools and libraries both in Canada and globally.

How can your company benefit from becoming a sponsor?

The Kiwanis Read-a-thon can help your company build its brand. Your brand will appear on all Read-a-thon materials that are distributed to thousands of homes, schools and libraries in our community, and across Canada and globally. Your brand will appear on the Read-a-thon national web site and be seen in national newspapers (like the Ottawa Citizen) as well as in community newspapers

Read-a-thon can help your company demonstrate its commitment to children and education. By sponsoring Read-a-thon, you are investing in children’s lives, improving schools and creating a better community.
